October 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - GUNTUR:

An advance fool proof drill of the security arrangements for the foundation stone laying ceremony at Uddandarayunipalem village in Guntur district would be done in a day or two. A two member team from Advance Security Liaison (ASL) of the Special Protection Group (SPG) visited the venue on Thursday and took stock of the arrangements. They were briefed by Additional DGP NV Surendra Babu, IGP N. Sanjay and other officers.

The advance fool-proof drill has been made mandatory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is protected by Special Protection Group (SPG).

Basing on the inputs provided by the ASL team, the SPG personnel would draft a detailed security plan. The SPG personnel may take over the main stage at least three days before the event. The rehearsals for the main ceremony would be held on October 20 and on October 21.

Senior police officers manning the security arrangements said that fool proof security cover would be thrown around Most Important Persons. The services of elite Greyhounds and Octopus would be used in providing security, senior officials said.
