The statue of Harikatha exponent Adibhatla Narayana Dasu was re-installed in the Gandhi Park here on Friday. Municipal chairperson P. Ramakrishna unveiled the statue.

Some miscreants had disfigured the statue last month, following which members of various cultural and literary organisations staged protests demanding action against the miscreants and replacement of the statue.

Former member of Official Language Commission A. Gopala Rao, Lok Satta State president B.A. Babji, founder of Adibhatla Peetham Pragada Kalyani and others thanked the Municipal chairperson for replacing the statue.
