Abe assures help to Naidu to build world-class capital

He hoped to strengthen Japan’s ties with India and AP in sectors such as trade, commerce, infrastructure, technology, agriculture and automobiles.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Friday assured Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that Japan would extend full cooperation to AP in building a world-class capital city.

Mr. Naidu, who met Mr. Abe in his office in Tokyo, invited him to Andhra Pradesh as part of his visit to India. He also handed over Tirupati Prasadam and a memento to the Japanese Premier.

During the meeting, Mr. Abe said “Japan will extend full cooperation to the new State of Andhra Pradesh in its development and also in building the capital city,” according to a press release in Hyderabad from the Communications Advisor to AP Government.

The Japanese Prime Minister was quoted as saying that this meeting would strengthen bilateral ties between Japan and India and open new vistas for both the countries in strategic and global partnership. In a short span of time, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr. Chandrababu Naidu have visited the country, seeking its cooperation for building smart cities and improving bilateral ties, he added.

He expressed the hope of improving and strengthening Japan’s relations with India and AP in various sectors like trade, commerce, infrastructure, technology, agriculture and automobiles.

Indian Ambassador to Japan, Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, AP Special Representative in Delhi K. Ramamohan Rao, Advisor (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar Rao and officials were present at the meeting.
