Two more die of swine flu in A.P.

Two more persons died of swine flu here on Saturday, taking the overall death toll to four in the Andhra Pradesh. The victims were 30-year-old Lakshmi Devi Lakka from Kavadiguda, Secunderabad, and 38-year-old Roopa Devi from Kadapa district.

Lakshmi Devi was admitted in a critical condition to Aware-Global Hospital, L. B. Nagar, on August 25 and kept on ventilator. Doctors of the Chest Hospital said Roopa Devi, admitted on August 29, went in to a critical state owing to late diagnosis. “She was on ventilator from the first day. She had a multiple organ failure,” they pointed out.

Till now, the health authorities have confirmed 205 positive cases of swine flu in the State.

On August 31, the first swine flu fatalities were notified with the death of 35-year-old realtor T. Malyadri and 25-year-old Prasad.
