Training benefiting tribal artisans, says ITDA PO

Integrated Tribal Development (ITDA) Rampachodavaram Project Officer K.V.N. Chakradharababu has said that the continuous training programmes being given to the semi-skilled artisans in artistic designs are paying off and the ITDA will plan some more in the six Youth Training Centres (YTC) that were built exclusively for this purpose.

He visited Yetapaka, newly-formed revenue divisional headquarters on Thursday, and inspected different development works in the mandal. He also went to YTC Balakavi Educational Seva Trust (BEST) is conducting its third training programme in making artistic designs with bamboo and cane for semi-skilled tribal artisans, mostly women, by inviting Master Trainers from Assam.

Interacting with the women trainees, the Project Officer reminded that during the training at Maredumilli in April, the trainees have made wonderful artistic designs which were displayed in YTC, Bommuru, during the Chief Minister’s tour in May and the CM appreciated them. He said that he will see that tribal persons will get minimum support price for bamboo which they are growing in Sirisinapalli forest land.

Mr. Chakradharababu said that the tribal youth will be trained in retail marketing, business processing and call centre receptionist’s courses shortly by leading outsourcing companies. He visited Girijan depot at Sirisinapalli and inspected the quality of bamboo that was ready for sale and said that last year the depot has earned Rs.26 lakh through the sale of bamboo and other items and this year they were planning to give sale process to Gram Sabha for development of the village.
