TTD approves ₹2,858.48 crore budget estimate

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday approved its annual budget for 2017-18, projecting an estimated revenue of ₹2,858.48 crore.

For the second time in the history of the temple, the budget estimates reflected no change in the income received from the temple ‘hundi’, which is put at ₹1,100 crore.

There is no major change in the estimated income under other heads, but for income in the form of interest on investments at ₹807.72 crore.

While special entrance, ‘Seeghra darshanam’ and ‘Break darshan’ tickets are expected to fetch ₹256 crore, laddus sales would earn ₹165 crore, followed by ₹100 crore from the sale of human hair.
