Sri Lankan President Maitripale Sirisena is likely to reach Tirumala - the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara on Saturday.
According to a communiqué from the State government, the President is scheduled to reach the town at 8 p.m. on Saturday. After an overnight stay, the President and his entourage are likely to participate in the Suprabhata seva inside the hill temple in the wee hours of Sunday.
TTD Deputy Executive Officer (Reception) Harindranath confirmed the receipt of the communiqué. Tirupati SP (Urban) Jaya lakshmi when contacted said that even though she had information about the arrival of the dignitary she was yet to receive any confirmation.
Thick blanket of security

In view of Mr. Sirisena’s visit, the Chittoor district police have embarked on providing foolproof security arrangements.
Chittoor SP Ghattamaneni Srinivas ordered strict surveillance at all the check posts bordering with Tamil Nadu. Special parties had left Puttur, Nagari, Satyavedu, Nagalapuram, Gudipala and Kuppam areas as a precautionary measure.
According to information, about 30 persons owing allegiance to TN-based political parties were taken into custody at the border check posts.
