NELLORE: SP Vishal Gunni, who inspected the fireworks unit blast site at Porlukatta here on Sunday, sent a report to the higher authorities recommending suspension of 3 Town CI G. Rama Rao and SI P. Ramakrishna holding them responsible for the tragic incident.
A police statement here said that Mr. Vishal took serious note of the negligent manner in which the CI and SI performed their duties in the past two years with regard to the unauthorised fireworks units run by one Bhasker at the isolated Porlukatta area.
Sometime back, the SP was stated to have given instructions to these officials to take action against these specific Porlukatta fireworks units but those orders were reportedly ignored by them. Considering it as a serious lapse on their part, the SP sent a report to the Guntur DIG recommending their suspension.
