VIJAYAWADA: Pavitra Sangamam, venue of the National Women’s Parliament (NWP), located on the banks of the Krishna at Ibrahimpatnam, has been richly illuminated by the A.P. Capital Region Development Authority.
The A.P. Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has taken steps to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
The CRDA has got the main venue decorated with LED bulbs and thousands of small colour lamps. It has also brought three generators with a total capacity of 5,000 kVA for meeting the power requirement in the event of a breakdown.
Both sides of the national highway have been decked up with beautiful lamps. The entire landscape is going to be at its resplendent best.
High-mast lights
The APSPDCL has installed 10 high-mast lights (comprising six lights each) at the venue. This is in addition to an equal number of such lights put up for the Krishna Pushkarams.
Besides, the Discom has inspected the 33 kV and 11 kV lines and carried out repairs if needed. Three 125 kVA generators have been kept ready to restore power immediately in case of any disruption.
Another generator is set apart for the ‘Krishna Harati’ which would be performed in the evening.
According to SPDCL officials, power is being supplied for Wi-Fi connection devices and CC cameras, which play a crucial role in security measures.
The Discom has taken it up as a challenge as 12,000 delegates are expected to attend the event. It has kept its staff on alert.
To mark the event, M.G. Road in Vijayawada and other thoroughfares and government buildings have been lit up.
