Naidu releases water to Pulivendula canal

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu commissioned the Gandikota lift irrigation scheme, an integral part of the Galeru Sujala Sravanthi project (GNSS) at Pydipalem in Simhadripalem mandal in Kadapa district and released water to Pulivendula canal on Wednesday.

‘Historic occasion’

Mr. Naidu performed pooja and released water from the Gandikota lift irrigation scheme pump house, fulfilling the long-cherished aspirations of the people of Pulivendula constituency.

Terming the release a historic occasion, Mr. Naidu announced release of ₹479 crore towards disbursal of compensation to the Gandikota project-displaced families in 14 villages.
