MPTC ticket aspirant threatens to end life

March 24, 2014 10:28 pm | Updated November 17, 2016 11:49 pm IST - WARANGAL:

Aspirant for MPTC ticket from Pembarthi village, N Mahender Reddy, threatened to commit suicide if he was denied ticket by the party. Tension prevailed at the residence of TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah at Jangaon here on Monday over this issue.

Meanwhile, scores of party activists staged a demonstration at the residence of DCC president Donthu Madhava Reddy at Hanamkonda demanding B-forms to those who had already filed their nominations for the local body elections.

Others who were in the race levelled serious charges against senior leaders accusing them of giving ticket to their own followers neglecting the long time workers. The DCC president tried his best to appease the agitating party workers, but in vain.

Speaking to newsmen, he tried to play down the protests stating that this was common during the elections. The party nominees were finalised in consultations with mandal level leaders, MLAs, MPs and party in-charges. Tickets were given only to those who could win the elections, he said.
