Acquiring land for the construction of Bhogapuram International Airport will be the topmost task for Vizianagaram’s new Collector Vivek Yadav, who worked as Joint Collector of Srikakulam district.
The government needs around 5,000 acres for its prestigious international airport project.
Mr. Vivek Yadav, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, has 12 years of service as a bureaucrat and got enough experience in handling land issues in Srikakulam district in the last three years.
In spite of stiff opposition from the people, he could ensure beginning of land acquisition process in a smooth manner in the district for many projects.
The land survey process has successfully begun in Kovvada and surrounding villages where the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is going to construct atomic power plant with an estimated investment of Rs.1.8 lakh crore.
The identification of land for Bhavanapadu port and Sumitomo power projects have also been done during his term in Srikakulam.
He could finalise R&R package for the displaced persons of Vamsadhara phase-2 with the support of Lok Adalat where the compensation issue was settled. It is being seen as a major achievement and made the government to elevate him as a Collector of Vizianagaram district where the government has planned an international airport.
Srikakulam Collector P. Lakshmi Narasimham, Joint Collector-2 P. Rajanikanta Rao, APNGOs State Associate president Chowdary Purushottam Naidu and others greeted Mr. Vivek Yadav on his elevation.
