IAF chopper makes emergency landing in Rangareddy district

September 30, 2009 07:46 pm | Updated December 17, 2016 04:30 am IST - Hyderabad:

An IAF helicopter that rescued four students caught in the swirling waters of rivulet Dundubhi in Mahaboobnagar district earlier in the day, made an emergency landing at Subhanpur village in Rangareddy district, while returning to base on Wednesday night.

Police said the pilots decided to land the chopper at Subhanpur as visibility was poor. It has been raining heavily in Mahabubnagar district and the adjoining Rangareddy district throughout the day.

“It was not due to any technical glitch. The pilots decided to make an emergency landing because of low visibility. It will take off for base tomorrow morning”, a senior police officer said.
