Heavy rains likely in Telangana, coastal Andhra

The Meteorological Department today warned of heavy rains in Telangana and coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh during the next two days.

With Southwest monsoon being vigorous, rains occurred at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and at few places over Rayalaseema region of the State.

Vijayawada recorded 11 cm of rains followed by 10 cm each in Machilipatnam (Krishna district) and Narayankhed in Medak district of the state till 8.30 am today.

The Met department has forecast moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with occurrence of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at a few places over Rayalaseema till the morning of October 26.

In Hyderabad, weather would be generally cloudy and rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in parts of city, the Met department said.
