A former naxalite was gunned down by two Maoists at Sarvaipet village near here after they suspected him to be a police informer, police said today.

The incident took place last night, under Mahadevpur police limits, nearly 90 kms from here, they said.

The naxal-duo forcibly entered the house of Bautu Laxmaiah (25) in the village and took him to the outskirts and shot him dead.

Laxmaiah had surrendered before the police in 2006.
