Chandrababu Naidu meets Satya Nadella in Davos

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella and other delegates representing various MNCs in Davos on Tuesday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting.

Mr. Naidu explained Mr. Nadella various technological initiatives being implemented in AP for real time governance and mentioned that he was keen on increasing digital transactions to 70 per cent by March 2017, according to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office.

Responding to Mr. Naidu, Mr. Satya offered to collaborate with Andhra Pradesh in the areas of e-Governance and cyber security and stressed the need to nurture hybrid cloud technology which was a great leap in technology.

The two agreed to make significant progress in the technology within a year.

Mr. Naidu also met Marie-Ange Debon, CEO of SUEZ environment, a French company, and told her the State was keen on using their expertise in pollution control in industrial areas, water treatment and waste to energy projects. He invited her to visit AP for feasibility studies.

Office for Economy and Labour, Zurich State Government, General Manager, Bruno Sauter, during his interaction with the CM said a sister-State relationship between Andhra Pradesh and the Zurich State, on which they were very keen, could be worked out.

Mr. Naidu also met Hiroyuki Ishige, Chairman, Japan External Trade Organisation, and briefed him how Andhra Pradesh was progressing by making use of technology for poverty alleviation.

Underlining that there was an increase in the number of Japanese companies in AP, Mr. Ishige invited Mr. Naidu to the investor’s seminar that would be organised in Japan shortly.

The Chief Minister later held a meeting with Nicholas Dirks, Chancellor, University of California, Berkeley. The University was already working with the State and one Solomon Darwin of the University had worked for complete digitisation of Mori village in AP.
