90% of Kanakadurga flyover works completed: official

‘There is no shortage of funds for construction’

The Kanakadurga flyover in the city was inspected by the Principal Secretary of Transport, Roads and Building Development, M.T. Krishna Babu, State transport officers and officials from the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department on Friday.

Mr. Krishna Babu said that Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Krishna Das and Minsiter for Endowments Velampalli Srinivas previously inspected the construction works in June this year and stated that it would be open to public by end of 2019. He also said that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to expedite the ongoing works at the flyover near Benz Circle and the Kanakadurga Temple.

The Principal Secretary further added that 90% of the construction works were completed and told the Transport and the R&B officials that there would be no shortage of funds to build the flyover in order to reduce the traffic.

R&B Superintending Engineers John Moshe and Srinivas Murthy, and Executive Engineer M. Subbayya were among those present during the inspection.
