IT Minister Nara Lokesh said on Wednesday the government was able to create 7,000 IT jobs in just 31 days after he was sworn in as the Minister.
Mr. Lokesh was speaking at the inauguration of seven IT/ITeS companies in the Medha IT Towers in the Hitech City at Gannavaram on Wednesday.
"It has been 31 days since I took oath as IT Minister. Having set a goal to bring one lakh IT jobs and five lakh industry jobs, we are moving forward towards achieving it. The HCL, which signed an MoU recently, is going to offer 5,000 jobs in the next two years. Also, the new seven IT companies will create 1,650 jobs in the coming two years.
On the third day of being Minister, I inaugurated an extended block of an IT firm that will provide about 300 jobs. Altogether the government was able to assure 7,000 jobs with the support of the CM," Mr. Lokesh said, summing up the developments since his induction.
"The response from companies is unprecedented. I have met all the stakeholders of Ithe T industry including company heads, experts at the national level regarding their requirements and problems being faced. Also discussed with the State's Skill Development Ministry."
About the Medha IT Tower, Mr. Lokesh said the remaining 40,000 sq.ft. of the area in the towers would be filled in a month.
“Promoter of the Hitech city Ace Urban Developers promised to further develop one million square feet SEZ space and one million sq ft on non-SEZ space along with a cafeteria for existing companies.
“The Telugu Desam Party government competed with States like Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu and brought Kia Motors to Anantpur. Similarly, Foxconn was brought to the State at the initiative of the CM. This proves the planning of the State government which is poised to get more companies to the State,” he added.
Grupo Antolin, IES (Spanish and German), Rotomaker, Chandu Soft, Meslova Services, EPSoft and Yamyah IT Solutions are the seven companies that would soon start operations from the Medha Towers.
An air-conditioned bus service of the APSRTC was also inaugurated. The bus would help IT employees commute between the city and the IT Park. A police outpost was also set up.
25% grievances solved
To a question on his initiative of hashtag government on Twitter and Facebook, Mr. Lokesh said the campaign was effective and many users had started registering complaints. He said so far 25% of the problems raised on Twitter and Facebook had been solved.
Minister for Skill Development, NRI Relations Kollu Ravindra, Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, local legislator V. Vamsi Mohan and APNRT CEO and Advisor to the Govt. of A.P. Ravi Vemuru were present.
