3 of a family found dead

October 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - GUNTUR:

Mystery shrouded the death of three persons of a family from Pedakakani village, whose bodies were found in the Guntur channel at Tekkellapadu by the local people on Friday morning.

The bodies were identified as those of Fatima (30), her son Altaf (7) and her mother Hanifa (50). Pedakakani Station House Officer Sesha Rao said the bodies had been identified and a case under 306 IPC (abetment to suicide) was booked against Nagul Meera (32), husband of Fatima.

Police suspect marital issues could be the reason behind the deaths. Nagul Meera and Fatima got married eight years ago and settled down in Pedakakani village. Nagul Meera used to own a lorry but later sold it owing to losses in business. He had bought an autorickshaw later and was driving it.

For the last few months, differences had cropped up between the couple as Nagul Meera had been pestering Fatima to bring additional money to buy another lorry.

The couple had even approached the police to sort out the issue and was counselled by them.
