As many as 269 candidates remained in fray for elections to 52 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) in Adilabad district after completion of the process of nomination withdrawal on Monday. The Congress and TRS have put up contestants in all the constituencies, while the TDP and BJP have fielded candidates at 43 and 32 seats respectively.
Meanwhile, the total number of candidates in the fray for the 636 Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTCs) in the district is 2,654. The Congress has fielded candidates at 599 places while the TRS put up candidates at 593, TDP 390 and BJP at 247 constituencies.
