June 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:01 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Telangana Government will train 25,000 students from across the State during the academic year 2015-16 to improve their employability quotient, said Minister for Information Technology K.T. Rama Rao.

The Minister inaugurated Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge (TASK), a State-run initiative for skill development to coincide with the first anniversary of formation of the new State.

As per the blueprint of the training plan, over 15,000 students will first be trained collectively by TASK, Nasscom and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad. Other candidates will be trained under different modules of TASK, the Minister said at a press conference on Tuesday.

The State decided to launch the academy as part of a larger initiative to get jobs for students in globally reputed corporate companies, Mr. Rao said.

“. We wanted an office which functions like a corporate office for training Telangana youth, who have been reeling under unemployment,” he said.
