25,000 jobs to be notified in July: KCR

‘Govt. will also issue orders to regularise services of contract staff this month’

The unemployed youth had a lot to cheer about on the first anniversary of formation of Telangana State on Tuesday. At the launch of the official celebrations at the Parade Grounds here, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced notification of 25,000 regular jobs by various departments of the State government in July.

Celebrations were held across the State, with Ministers participating in their respective districts.

They will be held till June 7 and several programmes are lined up at 25 venues here. Mr. Rao paid tributes to the Telangana martyrs’ memorial near Assembly before proceeding to the Parade Grounds.

The government will also issue orders to regularise the services of contract staff this month and the process will be completed between July and December,

Mr. Rao said after unfurling the tricolour and reviewing the parade by police forces.

An impressive rollout of floats depicting various programmes of the government added colour to the proceedings .

The prestigious programme of the government to construct two-bedroom houses for the poor with a budget of Rs. 2,500 crore will be launched and about 50,000 houses will be constructed with a unit cost of Rs. 5.04 lakh this year.

Mr. Rao said the foundation stone for the Palamuru lift irrigation scheme with an outlay of Rs. 35,000 crore will be laid shortly. Similarly, the Pranahita-Chevella project at a cost of Rs. 30,000 crore will take shape with the construction of a barrage at Kaleswaram. He announced implementation of several other measures, including the election promise of the TRS to extend 12 per cent reservation to Scheduled Tribes. The quota will be implemented as soon as the committee headed by retired IAS officer S. Chellappa submits its report.
