The Apollo Speciality Hospitals, a 200-bed tertiary care unit in Nellore, is all set for inauguration during the next visit of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to the city.
In tune with their new drive to ensure high quality healthcare to the tier-II cities, the Chennai-based Apollo Group has put Nellore branch on the priority list .
The multi-storeyed building had been completed and some services had already begun prior to the formal inauguration of the facility.
The state-of-the-art new premises, with a built-up space of 2 lakh sft, has come up at Pinakini Nagar, Muthukur Road, between Mini-bypass Road and the NH-5 .
The hospital is equipped with advanced facilities to provide services in over 30 specialties ranging from gastroenterology, neurology and gynaecology to cardiology and general surgery. Specialist doctors will be rendering services in anaesthesiology, general medicine, geriatrics, lab services, clinical pathology, nephrology and so on. Representatives of the Apollo Hospitals Nellore say that with the setting of the facility, it would be useful to a sizeable number of patients who now have to go all the way to Chennai for treatment.
Now on, almost all kinds of advanced surgeries and specialties will be made available here in Nellore itself.
Already, knee replacement, bariatric and such other high-end surgeries are being performed in Nellore with expert consultants from Apollo, Chennai, who make weekly visits to this branch. In view of the forthcoming visit, the district administration is also making arrangements for a public meeting at some village nearer to Nellore.
