2 of family from Karnataka killed as car hits tractor

Dasara pilgrimage of a family from Karnataka ended in a tragedy as its two members were killed after the car they were travelling in hit a parked tractor at Dadavada near Giddalur in Prakasam district in the wee hours of Friday.

The family, hailing from Mulapadu near Giddalur, has settled down in Chikmagalur in Karnataka. Seven members of the family were on a pilgrimage to Srisailam and Bhadrachalam to make good of the Dasara holidays.

When they reached Dadavada, the car driver, in his attempt to avoid collision with a lorry, hit a tractor parked on the roadside, killing R. Jyothi Narasimha (57), a timber merchant, and his son-in-law P. Raghavendra Rao (35) on the spot, Markapur DSP Srihari Babu said.
