2 killed, 4 hurt as car hits culvert

Two persons of a family were killed on the spot, and four others were seriously injured when the SUV in which they were travelling hit a culvert wall at Maredupalle village of Tavanampalle mandal in the early hours of Saturday.

Circle inspector (Chittoor West) Adinarayana said that a family of six of Agarampale village in Irala mandal were on their way to Bengaluru in their car in the early hours. After travelling two kilometres, the vehicle met with the accident.

The deceased were identified as farmer Vidyasagar Reddy (45) and his mother Dhanalakshmi (70). His wife and three children who received serious injuries were shifted to the CMC Hospital at Vellore, where they were declared out of danger. A case was registered.
