The 115-year-old Baptist Church, renamed as Centenary Baptist Zion Church, was dedicated here on Sunday.
The church located in the heart of town of Bapatla has been built at a cost of Rs.5 crore with contributions from the members of the church as well as friends including political leaders in Bapatla region. The church presents an imposing view to the passers on the Guntur Bapatla Chirala (GBC) Road.
The interiors include a spacious and beautiful platform and the church itself can accommodate 2,000 people. Another new facility of the church is open area for vehicle parking, public meetings and future community hall.
Leaders from all political parties attended the dedication ceremony of the new church. Rev. G. Emmanuel Raju, the pastor of the CBZ church, led the ceremonies of dedication with Rev. G.D.D. Diwakar the Executive Director of PABC as the chief guest. Leaders from all political parties graced the event and greeted the people of the church. Many have nostalgia of the old church renamed as Centenary Baptist Zion Church in the year 2000 marking one hundred years of its existence.
