Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu has again exuded confidence of the emergence of a front of all regional parties in the country that would be a viable alternative to both Congress and BJP-led alliances.
In a chat with mediapersons in the Assembly lobbies on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said he would not be able to specify the name of the front and whether it would be formed before or after elections.
“It could be a federal front or a third front. It’s too early to comment. But I am confident of regional parties coming together and TDP playing a vital role in it.”
This is the second time in three days that he has spoken of the formation of such a front.
Buoyed by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s announcement of a federal front, he said both UPA and NDA had failed the nation and people were looking for an alternative that would come from regional parties. Replying to a question, Mr. Naidu said he had recently spoken to Ms. Banerjee recently.
