‘Farmers disappointed’

Chief adviser to the Consortium of Indian Farmers’ Association P. Changal Reddy on Wednesday said that the Union Budget was extremely disappointing to the farmers. He said that the BJP did not even broach any of the promises it made in its election manifesto.

Rythanga Samakhya president Yerneni Nagendranath said there was nothing different about the budget as far as farmers were concern.

Former Rajya Sabha member Yalamanchili Sivaji said that it was like “a local body budget,” which did not reflect the state of the economy. As regards the agriculture sector, the Budget contained nothing substantial , he said.
