November 12, 2013 02:52 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:56 pm IST - GURGAON:

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid met his Bangladeshi counterpart Dipu Moni on the margins of the ASEM Ministerial conclave on Monday evening and assured her about the government’s intention to introduce the constitutional amendment related to the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) in the December session of Parliament.

India sought to know the political situation in Bangladesh following the resignation of Ministers ahead of the polls, and implementation of the agreement for power-sharing and the benefits accruing to the ordinary people from it, said officials sources in the Ministry of External Affairs.

The two leaders also touched upon the recent incident of a cocktail explosion near Indian mission in Chittagong and other regional issues of common interest.

They agreed to keep in touch during the forthcoming meeting of CHOGM in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Khurshid’s bilateral talk was one among a score scheduled over three days, beginning from November 10.

As is the norm at most multinational events, other countries also utilised the occasion to factor in bilateral talks with countries of interest.
