Two put on ventilator in Pune
Doctor, pharmacist are 'stable,' but have respiratory problems
Two swine flu patients in Pune were moved to the Sassoon General Hospital and put on ventilator on Friday after their condition became critical. They are now stable.
One of the two men is a 36-year-old doctor, while the other is a 35-year-old pharmacist.
Speaking to The Hindu, Medical Superintendent of Sassoon Hospital P.S. Pawar said: “For some time, the doctor’s blood pressure went down. But the two are critical but stable now. They are hemodynamically stable, though they have respiratory problems.”
Fifty-five new positive cases have been reported across Maharashtra since Thursday, according to the head of the State’s swine flu cell, Pradeep Awate. Of these, 39 were from Pune and 16 were from Mumbai.
