Two Naxals killed in Dantewada encounter

Two Naxals were on Sunday killed in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, police said.

After receiving a tip-off about some Naxal activity near Gumiyapal village under the Kirandul station area, a police team reached the place, Superintendent of Police, Dantewada, Amresh Mishra said.

However, the Naxals opened fire to which the police retaliated. Two Naxals were killed in the exchange of fire, he said.

Apart from the bodies of the two deceased, police also recovered arms and ammunition from the place, the official said.
