To ensure maximum voting by the physically challenged and the elderly in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Gautam Budh Nagar district administration has deployed teams to take them to polling booths.

“There are 1,246 booths in Noida and Greater Noida. We have identified that there are 4,500 physically challenged persons. They are located in 762 booths. We have made ramps and deployed teams to take them to the booths,” Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate N.P. Singh told The Hindu .

The administration has identified 97 elderly persons who do not have families to take them to poll booths. The administration has contacted these people and deployed teams to take them to the voting centres.

“We have shared the email ID with residents so that they can identify more physically challenged and the elderly,” Mr. Singh said.

The DM visited some booths to take stock of arrangements.
