Sonia gives up Press Club of India membership

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has given up honorary membership of the Press Club of India (PCI) which was extended to her on August 21. She returned the membership card after warring groups of PCI tried to politicise the issue.

In a letter addressed to the Press Club, Congress media department chairman, Janardan Dwivedi, said: “In view of the ongoing controversy in PCI, Ms. Gandhi is giving up her honorary membership with immediate effect.”
