Sheila Dikshit to meet Manmohan on price rise

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the soaring prices of food grain in the national capital.

“I am meeting the PM soon,” the chief minister said on the sideline of a function here Thursday.

“We are preparing a full report and will present it to the PM,” Ms. Dikshit said.

In a bid to counter the spiralling prices of sugar in the retail market, the Delhi government has been cracking down on traders hoarding the commodity.

Aiming to bring down sugar prices prevailing at a high of Rs.48 a kg, raids have been conducted at 14 places in the last three days.
