Rosaiah clarifies on remark

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah has clarified that he was “astonished, surprised and anguished” by the turn of events in the aftermath of Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram’s statement (on initiating the process for formation of Telangana) and not by the statement per se.

He was responding to a PTI report published in these columns on December 12 under the headline ‘Rosaiah: nothing has been finalised on Telangana’. It quoted him a saying in an interview to NDTV that he was “astonished, surprised and anguished by Mr. Chidambaram’s statement.” This was a misrepresentation of facts, a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s office said on Sunday.
