Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday landed in Tehran on a two—day visit to the country, his first since taking over office two years ago.

Mr. Modi, who is the first Indian Prime Minister having visited Iran in the last 15 years, was received at the Mehrabad International Airport by Iran’s Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ali Tayyebnia.

Ahead of his visit to Iran, he said enhancing connectivity, trade, investment and energy partnership will be his priority with the Persian Gulf nation.
