Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Saturday warned all private FM channels of an agitation if they did not start broadcasting Marathi songs within seven days.
“It has been noticed that many FM channels do not play Marathi songs. They should start airing them in a week or else Sena will launch an agitation,” Mr. Thackeray said in a statement here.
“Nowadays anyone gets up and betrays Maharashtra... radio stations are added to this list now,” Mr. Thackeray said.
Any radio station not complying with his directive would face ‘Sena-style' agitation, the Sena chief said. Musician Koustub Inamdar backed Mr. Thackeray.
