Militants kill policeman, civilian in south Kashmir

Militants shot dead a policeman and a civilian in Kulgam district in south Kashmir, the police said on Friday.

The militants opened fire on policeman Manzoor Ahmed at Chanser in Kulgam 8.30 PM, a police official said.

He said Manzoor and Farooq Ahmed, who was also hit in the firing, died on the spot, while two other civilians sustained injuries.

The injured persons have been referred to a Srinagar hospital, they said.
