Militant hideout busted in J&K

Security forces on Saturday busted a hideout of militants and recovered arms and ammunition, including 5 kg of RDX, in Budgam district of central Kashmir, police said.

Police assisted by troops of 29 Rashtriya Rifles and 176 battalion of CRPF came across the hideout at Rutsuna forests during cordon and search operation between Nayebasti and Bun Maqhama, 50 km from here, a police spokesman said.

An AK 47 rifle, five AK magazines, two pistols, a rocket shell, 5 kg of RDX, 600 AK rounds, a pencil bomb, an IED detonator, a under barrel grenade launcher shell and one wireless set with antenna were recovered among others.

However, no one was arrested from the hideout, he said.
