Mahato remanded to judicial custody

Chhatradhar Mahato, convener of the People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities, was on Thursday remanded to judicial custody till November 5 by a court at Jhargram in West Midnapore district.

The PCAPA leader was produced in the court of Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Sheikh Mohammed Reza in connection with the case of murder of a local CPI(M) leader from Kantapahari Prabir Mahato.

Posing as journalists police had arrested Chhatradhar Mahato on September 26 near Lalgarh.
