The Lok Sabha on Thursday complimented scientists and engineers of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the successful launch of the country’s heaviest launch vehicle GSLV Mark—III from Sriharikota.

“This launch has placed India in the group of select nations who possess the industrial capabilities of carrying out such complicated missions. We are very proud of the achievements of our space scientists,” Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said.

She said the re—entry of a crew module along with the launch vehicle was an “important step” towards sending astronauts of this country to space.

“This House congratulates the scientists and engineers of the ISRO for the success of this mission,” Mahajan said amid all—round thumping of desks.
