K. R. Narayanan Award for N.Ram

N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu , has been chosen for the K. R. Narayanan Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of journalism.

This was announced on Thursday by Justice K. Narayana Kurup, Chairman of the Foundation, which instituted the award in memory of the former President.

Justice Kurup said UAE-based industrialist M. A. Yusuf Ali has been selected for the K. R. Narayanan Pravasi Ratna award for his contribution to the cause of NRIs.

The K. R. Narayanan Kala Puraskaram award went to Malayalam film ‘Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja, he said.

The award consisting of a statuette and a citation would be presented to the winners during the first week of January next year at the K. R. Narayanan Memorial Lecture to be held in Delhi.

The winners were decided by a committee comprising Justice Kurup, former minister N. M. Joseph and former Mahatma Gandhi University Vice-Chancellor A. T. Devasya.
