Infiltration bid foiled, three militants killed in J&K

The slain militants were involved in the attack on a BSF post in Tangdhar sector, in which three jawans of the force were injured.

The Army on Sunday said it killed three infiltrators in Kupwara district and foiled an infiltration bid by militants to sneak into the plains of the Valley.

A Srinagar-based Defence spokesman told The Hindu that three militants were killed in Tanghdar area of Kupwara district, more than 100 km north of Srinagar.

Weapons recovered

Three weapons were also recovered from them. “The slain terrorists were involved in an attack on the security forces on August 19, in which three BSF jawans were injured,” said the spokesman.
