The India-EU Summit may not involve a press conference, as is the practice at such meetings, a source at the EU told The Hindu .

The Indian side was not open to a question-answer session with the press, the source said, adding that the EU had decided to take a “hardline” on the issue by saying that there would not be a press conference if there were no opportunities to ask questions.

Consequently, as things stand, the press can expect no more than a press statement at the end of the meetings on Wednesday and a few photo opportunities during the arrival ceremony, as far at the EU Summit part of Prime Minister Modi’s visit is concerned.
