IT searches on Punjab pop singers

The Income Tax department conducted searches on the residential and office premises of several Punjabi pop singers, actors and others from the regional cinema industry at various places in Punjab.

While the department was not forthcoming with any information, the unprecedented action has raised a few eyebrows in the State.

According to reports, the I-T teams descended on the residences and offices of Punjabi singers, Miss Pooja, Gippy Grewal and Diljit Dosanjh in Jalandhar, Mohali and Rajpura.

Searches were also conducted at the premises of film producer Romy Tahli, owners and partners of the Speed Record Company, Rubi Electronics and Batra Films in Jalandhar city.
