The Union Home Ministry has condemned the killing of 16 villagers, including five children, at Khagaria in Bihar.

“The killing of unarmed and innocent civilians seems to be the hallmark of Maoists,” a Home Ministry spokesperson said on Friday.

The Ministry has asked the Bihar government to involve the Central Reserve Police Force in search operations in the area, if need be. Four battalions of the CRPF have already been stationed in Bihar.
