Colonel indicted for molesting junior officer

July 26, 2010 11:42 pm | Updated 11:42 pm IST - New Delhi:

An Army Court of Inquiry (CoI) has indicted Colonel Anurodh Mishra for molesting a Major rank officer, setting the stage for his court martial. The Major had filed a complaint accusing the Colonel of molesting her during their posting in Jammu and Kashmir.

After looking into complaint, the COI headed by a Brigadier has recommended disciplinary action against Col. Mishra. This would mean initiation of court martial proceedings. In his defence, Col. Mishra accused a Lt. Colonel of “using” the woman officer against him due to personal enmity. He approached the Armed Forces Tribunal, contending that the charges were “false.”
