Cabinet clears project to e-link treasuries

To ensure greater efficiency in financial administration, the Union Cabinet on Thursday approved a Rs. 626-crore project, under the National e-governance Plan, to computerise the State treasuries and enable them to share data among themselves as also the Reserve Bank of India and other agencies.

Briefing the media, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said: “The scheme is aimed at supporting the State governments to computerise their treasury functions.”
