Baldev Raj, Director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) in Kalpakkam has been elected president of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE).
The academy is a peer body of distinguished engineers, scientists and technologists covering the entire spectrum of engineering disciplines. It provides considered opinion on policy matters in domains of higher education, energy, heritage and industry either on request from the government or on the basis of the need envisaged, said a release. It has selected 634 Fellows from inception of the Academy till date and 50 foreign Fellows on the basis of sustained contributions.
