BJP national executive meet begins today

March 19, 2016 01:59 am | Updated November 17, 2021 02:01 am IST - NEW DELHI:

At a time when five States are headed for polls and there is a heated debate on “nationalism” and reservations, the BJP’s national executive will meet here on Saturday and Sunday soon after party chief Amit Shah getting a full three-year term.

The event — which will kick off Saturday evening with a speech of Mr. Shah — will be preceded by a meeting of national office-bearers of the party.

The party will pass two resolutions, one political and the other economic. The event will end with an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday evening.

While the economic resolution is expected to deal with the budget and shower praises on it as “pro-poor” and “pro-farmer,” the political resolution will deal with a host of issues.

It is expected to attribute the propaganda against the government on “intolerance” and other such issues to the “frustration” of the Opposition for having “failed” to find real issues.
